Here is a tri colored chapatti recipe that is perfect for celebrating Indians independence. Of course you can enjoy it any day as it is packed with nutrition.
Ingredients
For orange color
Whole wheat flour (Atta) - 1/2 cup
Carrot puree - 1/4 cup
Salt - 1/4 tsp
For green
Whole wheat flour (Atta) - 1/2 cup
Green peas puree - 1/4 cup (You could also use spinach or any other green leafy vegetable puree.)
Salt - 1/4 tsp
For white color
All purpose flour - 1/2 cup
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Method
Make a smooth puree of the carrot and green peas. You need about 1/4th cup of puree for 1/2 cup of flour.
Make a smooth chapatti dough with the each list of ingredients separately. You will have 3 colored dough.
Pinch a small ball from each colored dough (blueberry size).
Press these balls together in the order - orange, white and green.
Roll this combined dough into a thin chapatti.
Cook it on a tawa. Enjoy with some ketchup, raita and hari (green) chutney
